Megan found yoga as a teenager after seeking help in processing traumatic childhood events. What unfolded over the years was a profound love affair. So intense, exciting, enticing, supportive and sometimes maddening. Through it all, daily mat time was a way to connect with her body in a healthy and empowering way. Along with supportive teachers she learned how this practice was way more than physical. Yoga gave her hope and brought her out of the victim roll. Drawn to extensive study of the energy centers, she teaches how a strong foundation of support is an essential building block to create a healthy body, open heart, an intuitive mind, and a fulfilling life. In 2000 she became a Licensed Massage Therapist, in 2005 a Reiki Master and in 2009 completed her 200hr Certification with The Shambhava School of Yoga at the Eldorado Mountain Ashram near Boulder, CO. She is currently working towards her 500 hr certification with Amy Ippoliti at 90 Monkeys also in Boulder, CO. More than 20 years in the Massage and Yoga industries, her extensive knowledge and experience helped co-create this well rounded Hatha Yoga Training. Blessed with Lauren's abundant gifts, the curriculum is steeped in tradition connecting body, mind, soul.
Lauren happened upon a yoga class in NYC in 1994 and was instantly taken. Within 2 years, she pursued teaching and received her certification from the White Lotus Foundation of Santa Barbara, CA. Her training is based in Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga and she practiced and taught in NYC, learning from many of the great American Yogis at that time.
After the birth of her first child, she and her family moved to Fairfield, CT where she has been teaching yoga since 1999.
With age and experience, Lauren began to turn her focus to more subtle and gentle practices for herself and soon after pursued a Reiki Mastership and Yoga Nidra Instructor certification. A yoga practice addresses all levels of consciousness, body, mind and spirit and throughout all of her challenges and successes, through the painful, scary times and the beautiful, light-filled times, yoga is the source of solid foundation and of transformation in her life.
Lauren is a natural teacher and this training is the culmination of her life's work, combining her love of physical movement, intellectual inquiry, emotional discovery and shared community. This training has been lovingly crafted to encompass all that Lauren, and her gifted co-creator Megan, deem essential for a deep and meaningful yoga experience.
